When does Marathon Ranked beta start?
The first Ranked beta window runs from March 21, 2026 at 10:00 AM PT to March 24, 2026 at 10:00 AM PT.
What do I need to queue for Marathon Ranked?
You must be Runner Level 25, queue during an active Ranked weekend, meet the gear ante in equipped gear value, and bring one Holotag in your backpack.
How does Marathon Ranked Mode work?
Your crew's Holotags set a score target and a loss penalty. Exfil at or above the target to earn Ranked Points. Exfil below target for no rank change. Fail to exfil and you lose RP based on your crew's combined loss penalty.
What is a Holotag in Marathon?
A Holotag is a Ranked item you bring in your backpack to queue. It sets your score target, your loss penalty, and your overperformance capacity. Holotags persist after exfil and can be sold for full value.
What are the ranks in Marathon Ranked?
Bungie's Ranked beta article confirms six ranks: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Pinnacle. Each rank has three tiers, such as Bronze 3, Bronze 2, and Bronze 1.
How do Low Stakes and High Stakes work?
Low Stakes (Ranked) requires a 3,000 gear ante and a Bronze Holotag minimum. High Stakes (Ranked+) requires a 10,000 gear ante and a Platinum Holotag minimum. The first beta weekend is Low Stakes only.
Can I solo queue in Marathon Ranked?
Bungie's article says all crew sizes are matched together in Ranked, so solo players, duos, and larger crews share the same Ranked matchmaking pool.
What happens if you die in Marathon Ranked?
You only lose RP if you fail to exfil. The amount lost is based on your crew's combined Holotag loss penalty, not always the same as your score target.
Do zones rotate in Marathon Ranked?
Yes. Ranked opens on weekends and rotates between Perimeter, Dire Marsh, and Outpost. The first Ranked beta weekend is on Perimeter.
How do Tag Chips work in Marathon Ranked?
Tag Chips and Polished Tag Chips count as valuable loot, add overperformance capacity, and auto-sell on exfil. They are another way to earn bonus RP above your starting score target.
How are Ranked rewards granted?
Season rewards are based on the highest rank you achieved during the season, even if your final standing drops later. Each new rank also grants a loot package with gear and room keys.
Are Marathon Ranked rewards cosmetic only?
Yes. Bungie's Ranked article says each season has unique Ranked rewards, and the current Season 1 reward examples are cosmetic items like emblems, gun styles, titles, a player background, and a Runner Shell Style.
